Mario Cioni

In the 80s, Mario Cioni started to photographing, especially preferring the landscape and portraits, for some time is dedicated to reportage. Then he began to collaborate with a professional photographer friend, dedicating himself to wedding photography and ceremonies in general, leaving out other forms of photography. Until in the 90s, Mario Cioni began his profession as a photographer.

In 2008, thanks to some friends who deal with photonatura, he begins to notice the wonderful world that surrounds him and remains fascinated by insects that swarm right near home and had never observed. This friend is passionate about macro photography but also about the fauna that populates the wetlands in various corners of the beautiful Tuscany and, in the rare moments left by the profession, she photographs various types of birds documenting the species and behavior of each animal.

From 2013, after leaving the profession, Mario Cioni devoted himself more intensely to photography and successfully participated in various group exhibitions in Italy. In 2014, Mario Cioni took part in national and international photographic competitions, receiving flattering support and obtaining the title of AFIAP (Artist of the International Federation of Photography).

At the same year, he was invited to Turkey and took part in the exhibitions organized in 2015 in the rooms of the Arkas Museum as part of the important event "Izmir: a legacy for tomorrow" and the subsequent publication of a catalog book with photos of all the authors.

Also in 2015, Mario Cioni was invited to exhibit his photos at the "International Photography Festival of YI XIAN" in China, with almost 5000 photos of 167 authors from all over the world. In addition, significant experiences with the photo reportage during his last trips to Romania, China and Turkey.

For Mario Cioni, the nature photo is a means to know better what is around us but also to know new worlds. Photographing something never seen, watching the behavior of a species that often makes you forget to shoot, this is the real emotion that leads him to get up at dawn and spend many hours waiting for something to arrive and let himself be immortalized.
