2018 Gansu Investing Project Introduction and Promotion Conference held in Tianjin

On April 13, the 2018 China (Tianjin) International Fair for Investment & Trade & Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) Exposition (hereinafter referred to as “the Tianjin Fair”), jointly hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce, Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and China General Chamber Of Commerce, was held at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center in Tianjin, China. With the theme of “New Opportunities and New Tianjin, Highlighting Opening-Up, Win-Win and Innovation”, the Tianjin Fair avails of exhibitions and aims to establish a platform of economic cooperation for the Belt and Road projects.

Tianjin City is a supporting city of Gansu Province. Tianjin and Gansu, respectively serving as an important pivot for the “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Cooperative Development” and “One Belt and One Road” strategies, have tremendous complementary advantages and cooperation potentials in industries, opening-up, and cultural exchanges. Gansu Province's special products debuted in the N1 exhibition area, highlighting the advantageous environmental resources and featured famous products in Tianshui City and Gannan Prefecture. Li Hongzhong, Politburo Member of the Central Committee and Tianjin Party Secretary, as well as Zhang Guoqing, Mayor of Tianjin, visited the Gansu booth.

At the same time, a promotion conference of Gansu Province was also held in Tianjin in the afternoon of April 13. Huang Xuanping, Vice Chairman of the 11th session of the Gansu Provincial Political Consultative Conference, and Li Changjin, Vice Chairman of Tianjin Municipal Political Consultative Conference, attended the conference and delivered speeches. Representatives from Global Photography, Tianjin Baili Equipment Group, Tianjin Photoelectric Group, Tianjin Jinyao Group, and Tianjin Tianduan Press Group Co., Ltd. also attended the conference.

The promotion conference was hosted by Mu Shejun, Deputy Inspector of the Commerce Department of Gansu Province. The Economic Cooperation Bureau of Gansu Province introduced 166 key investment promotion projects of high return on investment and good market prospects, covering logistics, border ports construction, processing and manufacturing, circular agriculture, traditional Chinese medicine, cultural tourism, and infrastructure, the investment on which has totaled 283.482 billion yuan. Fan Wude, Executive Deputy Governor of People's Government of Gannan Prefecture, and Lou Jie, Deputy Director of Management Committee of Lanzhou New District, respectively introduced the investment environment and key investment projects in Gannan and the Lanzhou New District. The entrepreneurs also negotiated with Gannan, Pingliang, Zhangye, Tianshui, Lanzhou New District and other municipalities on specific investment projects.

This year, Gansu is carrying out the campaign “Year of Changing the Work Style and Improving the Development Environment” to create a business environment that transforms innovation, honors promises, and promotes business. Gansu adheres to the opening policy in promoting development, expanding exchanges, and enhancing cooperation, in order to make Gansu the most attractive area in Western China, a rewarding land for investors and a hot spot for industrial development.
