2018 Pirelli Calendar has an all-black cast in “Alice In Wonderland” World

Fans of the Pirelli calendar (see issues from 2017 and 2016) are in luck – the wait is over and some of the fairytale-like images for the 2018 edition have finally been unveiled.

Tim Walker, a renowned British fashion photographer, has picked a stellar all-black cast for his 12-month fable, based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. It was styled by British Vogue Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful, the first black man to steer a mainstream women’s fashion magazine.

“This is an important step in culture development – to push images that aren’t generic, that don’t conform to stereotypes,” said model Thando Hopa, who portrays the Princess of Hearts.
