Photographic Investigation of Fantastic Moving Bodies[1] Photographer: Lois Greenfield (America)
Description With over 40 years of experience on photographic works, renowned New York photographer Lois Greenfield makes impressive and aerial dance photographs. Although she began her career as a photojournalist, the artist was quickly drawn to the aesthetic and poetic potential of moving bodies, since being inspired by photography’s ability to stop time and reveal what the naked eye cannot see.

For the series “Moving Still”, Lois Greenfield’s unique approach to photographing the human form in motion has radically redefined the genre and influenced a generation of photographers. The moments she shoots in this series are based not in choreography but in improvisation and happen so fast that they are imperceptible to the naked eye. Her photographic process is also unusual and old-fashioned, shooting only one frame at a time from a manual camera.
